Miller and Diaz Need To Fight

Postby Truck on Tue Jul 27, 2010 3:42 pm

You did not think the melee at Strikeforce: Nashville fight was over did you? In an interview with on HDNet with Michael Schiavello, Jason Miller responded this way after seeing a picture of Nick Diaz, “Stop showing it to me, stop it...I used to love this guy like they way I loved President George Bush, so stupid that he is hilarious. But now, that it affects my life it’s a totally different thing.” Miller did not hold back during his interview. Recall that Jason Miller went into the ring following Jake Shields victory over Dan Henderson and asked for a re-match. What followed was an altercation between Jason Miller and Jake Shield’s fight team members Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez. Though Strikeforce handed out suspensions and fines, the result was not peace. Rather animosity has grown and turned out into a blood feud between Miller and Diaz. Throughout the interview with Shiavello, Miller characterizes Diaz’s as childish, thuggish, and gangster like. Simply, Miller said, “I want to beat him up. It’s business, but I want to kick him in the face, legally.” Diaz, not to be out done, released a five-minute YouTube video, “You just run around and you market yourself. You paint your hair...you have to walk around and be that a**h*le everyday. That's too bad for you man." Though each fighter wants to go to war, Miller and Diaz fight in different weight classes. Fans have not heard the last words from these two.

I love Mayhem. Nick and Nate aren't the smartest in the world, but they are tough SOBs. Nick Diaz would whoop his ass.

I think this is English...

Sorry, man, I don't know enough about these guys to say. I mean, yeah, let's see them fight. I thought the other guys were in Strikeforce, though? Why all the shit-talking now that they're in different organizations?

Mayhem isn't the real deal though. He's an awesome character, but as a fighter, he's not a contender for anything. He's not in Diaz territory, for sure. It would be him accepting a beat-down for a payday.

They're in the same org. They are in differnet weight classes, but I read that Diaz walks around at over 190, so it wouldn't be a stretch for them to fight. Nick hasn't really lost a fight since like 06. He lost to KJ Noons in 07, but it was stopped due to cuts...so.

I really like Miller and think he's a decent fighter. But Nick would rape him in the ring.

All I know about Miller is that he has a different hair color all the time, he does hilarious shit online, and every once in a while he fights in a fight against somebody I've never heard of, in an organization I've barely heard of. Nick Diaz is a guy who might be in title contention in the UFC if he stopped smoking weed. Maybe not, but the worst case scenario for a drug-free Nick Diaz is being on the main card in UFC 3-4 times a year. He's in a different league than Miller. Miller was a good fighter in his prime, but he's not in his prime anymore, he takes weak fights because some people still want to see him on TV. Seriously, when you're a big name in MMA and your most recent opponent doesn't even have a Wikipedia page, that tells me all I need to know about the level of competition you are up to facing.

I was going to respond, but I really wasn't sure what to say. I don't like either of the Diaz bros., so I felt like that would over-shadow whatever I had to say about the situation. That is a fight that could easily happen. Both guys have fought at Welterweight and Middleweight in the past. Nick Diaz is a consistant fighter while Miller is kind of up and down. He did go 3 rounds with GSP in the early part of both of their careers when Georges first came to the UFC. Millers antics makes him a fan favorite in Japan, but he really hasn't had the same success here in the states. I think Diaz would probably win a match-up between the 2, but "Mayhem" should never be counted out. I'm sure this fight is being considered by Strikeforce.
